TimberHawk Bows is owned and operated by Scott Mitchell, of Bloomington, Indiana.
When Scott is not building bows, he's fighting fires. His job as a firefighter for the Bloomington Fire Department affords him several days off a week, which Scott uses to work on custom bows for customers from around the country. He is also an active member of the Bloomington Archery Club. If you drop in on any given shoot at this club, you would notice a walking gallery of his bows, since many of the members shoot various recurves and longbows he has made over the years. "Is that a Mitchell bow?" is a common question on the range.
Scott is married to Charlene and has two wonderful kids (who also shoot bows). He lives near lake Monroe and enjoys hunting on public and private land near his home.
I started TimberHawk Bows not just as a way to make money, but as a way to use my gifts do something I enjoy. I have always enjoyed both wood working and archery; TimberHawk Bows allows me the opportunity to build on these interests that have captivated me since I was eleven years old.
I believe that all gifts are bestowed by God, not to glorify ourselves, but to glorify Him, and the dedication and seriousness with which I approach my work manifests itself in the design and function of each bow. Isaiah 55:11 says that Gods Word always accomplishes its intended work. Each TimberHawk Bow will have a scripture reference inscribed on it. If you have a favorite verse or passage I will gladly use it.
"The Bible says that whatever you do, do to the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31). I try and do that with each bow that I make." —Scott Mitchell
